He married Sarah Ann Mathis on 30 November 1855, in Payson, Utah, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 9 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah, United States in 1910 and Fountain Green, Sanpete, Utah, United States in 1920. He registered for military service in 1857. He died on 26 September 1920, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Utah, United States, at the age of 85, and was buried in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, Pleasant Grove, Utah, Utah, United States.

1836 · Remember the Alamo

Being a monumental event in the Texas Revolution, The Battle of the Alamo was a thirteen-day battle at the Alamo Mission near San Antonio. In the early morning of the final battle, the Mexican Army advanced on the Alamo. Quickly being overrun, the Texian Soldiers quickly withdrew inside the building. The battle has often been overshadowed by events from the Mexican–American War, But the Alamo gradually became known as a national battle site and later named an official Texas State Shrine.

After the Saints had been chased out of Missouri they moved to a swampy area located next to the Mississippi River. Here they settled and named the place Nauvoo which translates into the city beautiful.
