He married Sarah Griffith on 25 December 1843, in Nauvoo Township, Hancock, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He lived in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States in 1839 and Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom in 1851. He died on 18 June 1876, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 77, and was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.
