He married Jane Jones on 16 March 1828, in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He immigrated to New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, United States in 1849. He died on 1 March 1889, in Willard, Box Elder, Utah, United States, at the age of 85, and was buried in Willard, Box Elder, Utah, United States.
