She lived in Ontario, Ontario, Wayne, New York, United States in 1831 and Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States in 1839. She died on 1 April 1891, in Taylor, Navajo, Arizona, United States, at the age of 63, and was buried in Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Navajo, Arizona, United States.

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
After the Saints had been chased out of Missouri they moved to a swampy area located next to the Mississippi River. Here they settled and named the place Nauvoo which translates into the city beautiful.
