When Daniel Berry Rawson was born on 16 December 1827, in Washington, Indiana, United States, his father, Horace Strong Rawson, was 28 and his mother, Elizabeth Coffin, was 20. He married Mariah Atchisson on 9 November 1845, in Yelrome, Hancock, Illinois, United States. He lived in Weber, Utah, United States in 1850 and Harrisville, Weber, Utah, United States in 1880. He registered for military service in 1846. He died on 18 February 1892, in Ogden, Weber, Utah, United States, at the age of 64, and was buried in Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden, Weber, Utah, United States.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.

1839 · Nauvoo is Settled

After the Saints had been chased out of Missouri they moved to a swampy area located next to the Mississippi River. Here they settled and named the place Nauvoo which translates into the city beautiful.

1845 · Oh My Father

"In October 1845, the newspaper Times and Seasons published a poem written by Eliza R. Snow entitled ""My Father in Heaven."" It has become the well known hymn, ""Oh My Father."" The song is only one in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hymnbook that referrs to a Heavenly Mother."
