When Jesse Hobson was born on 26 January 1812, in Randolph, North Carolina, United States, his father, Nathan Harvey Hobson, was 26 and his mother, Rebecca Freeman, was 19. He married Catherine Daugherty on 6 April 1835, in Naperville, Cook, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Mesa, Maricopa, Arizona, United States in 1881 and Oxford, Oneida, Idaho, United States in 1882. In 1860, at the age of 50, his occupation is listed as farmer; mayor of richmond in Richmond, Cache, Utah, United States. He died on 18 June 1883, in Oxford, Franklin, Idaho, United States, at the age of 71, and was buried in Richmond City Cemetery, Richmond, Cache, Utah, United States.
