When Mary Ann Nease was born on 29 January 1824, in Butler, Butler, Pennsylvania, United States, her father, Peter Neas, was 41 and her mother, Lucinda Eleanor Martin, was 25. She married Dimon Runnels McFerson on 29 November 1845, in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 7 daughters. She lived in Pottawattamie, Iowa, United States in 1850 and Davis, Utah, United States in 1860. She died on 12 April 1906, in Lewiston, Cache, Utah, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Kaysville City Cemetery, Kaysville, Davis, Utah, United States.

1825 · The Crimes Act

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
