When William Francis Maylett was born on 10 April 1826, in Bromfield, Shropshire, England, his father, James Maylett, was 39 and his mother, Mary Vaughan, was 42. He married Elizabeth Rudd on 6 April 1853, in At Sea. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He immigrated to Utah, United States in 1856. He registered for military service in 1866. He died on 23 October 1908, in Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Manti Cemetery, Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States.
