History of Helen (Ellen) Cameron Adamson - written by La Prele H. Hall Helen Cameron was born 6 May 1809 at Pathhead, Fife, Scotland, the daughter of Janet Barr and William Cameron. Pathhead, located on the East Coast of Scotland, just a few miles north of the Firth of Forth, has sine been incorporated into the town of Kirkcaldy. It is one of the oldest locations with recorded Scottis history and is rich in tradition and lore. Nearby stands the remains of Ravinstead Castle...The East Coast was also a busy seaport with Holland where coal and salt were shipped across the channel and goods from Holland received. It was on this wind-swept coast that Helen Cameron spent her early life. She met a young man by the name of john Adamson from Boreland and they were married on December 31, 1836. They made their first at Boreland and later at Dysart. They were the parents of five children: Jannett, born 25 April 1838; Andrew, born 15 November 1839; Margaret, born 8 October 1841;

1815 · Manchester Dock in Liverpool Built

In 1815, the Manchester Dock in Liverpool was constructed by John Foster Sr. It was an important gateway for coal and manufactured goods mainly corn and cotton. It closed in 1929.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
