When William Houston Howard was born on 28 February 1877, in Randolph, Rich, Utah, United States, his father, Joseph Howard Jr., was 27 and his mother, Mary Ann Perkins, was 37. He married Leonora Webster on 17 March 1898, in Vernal, Uintah, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 6 daughters. He immigrated to World in 1942 and lived in United States in 1949 and Vernal, Uintah, Utah, United States in 1950. He died on 2 February 1960, in Holladay, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Millcreek, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.

1880 · Uintah County was established
On Feb 8th, 1880, Uintah county is established. Although Vernal is one of the most important cities in the county, it does not incorporate until later.
1896 · Utah Becomes a State
After three prior attempts to become a state, the United States Congress accepted Utah into the Union on one condition. This condition was that the new state rewrite their constitution to say that all forms of polygamy were banned. The territory agreed, and Utah became a state on January 4, 1896.
1899 · The Salt Palace Convention Center
The original Salt Palace was built in 1899 and It stood on 900 South, between State Street and Main Street. The Salt Palace was a frame structure covered in large pieces of rock salt, which gave it its name. The Salt Palace was destroyed by fire on August 29, 1910 and was replaced by the Majestic Hall. This Hall only lasted for a while during the remodel of the Salt Palace. The Salt Palace served as the Olympic Media Center during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Salt Lake Comic Con has been held at the Salt Palace Convention Center since September 2013.
