He married Charlotta Josefina Johansdotter on 23 November 1874, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Grantsville, Tooele, Utah, United States for about 10 years. He died on 9 February 1936, in Oakley, Cassia, Idaho, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Oakley Cemetery, Oakley, Cassia, Idaho, United States.
