He married Eliza Collins on 3 January 1833, in Quincy, Adams, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 4 daughters. He immigrated to Utah, United States in 1857 and lived in Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah, United States in 1870 and Calls Fort, Box Elder, Utah, United States in 1880. He registered for military service in 1846. He died on 3 January 1889, in Honeyville, Box Elder, Utah, United States, at the age of 76, and was buried in Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah, United States.
