He married Anna Elisabeth Marti on 2 December 1881, in Madretsch, Bern, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 11 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Bountiful Election Precinct, Davis, Utah, United States in 1900 and Bountiful, Davis, Utah, United States in 1910. He died on 27 August 1915, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 61, and was buried in Bountiful Memorial Park, Bountiful, Davis, Utah, United States.
