When John Anthony Woolf II was born on 27 February 1843, in Pelham, Westchester, New York, United States, his father, John Anthony Woolf Sr., was 37 and his mother, Sarah Ann Devoe, was 28. He married Mary Lucretia Hyde on 21 December 1866, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Alberta, Northwest Territories, Canada in 1901 and Cardston Alberta Temple, Cardston, Cardston County, Alberta, Canada in 1906. He registered for military service in 1860. He died on 20 February 1928, in Logan, Cache, Utah, United States, at the age of 84, and was buried in Hyde Park Cemetery, Hyde Park, Cache, Utah, United States.
