Alonzo Andersen Alonzo Andersen, 83, of 404 South Third East, Brigham City, died Saturday, March 19, 1983, at his home. He was born Sept. 17, 1899, in Brigham City, a son of Jonathan N. and Ellen Mariah Tingey Andersen. He married Margaret Bassett on Nov. 4, 1926, in the Logan LDS temple. He had been a lifelong resident of Brigham City and was a retired federal employee. He served an LDS mission to Norway from 1926 to 1928. He had been secretary in the elders, seventies and high priest quorums and had been a member in the seventies presidency of Box Elder stake. He had served two stake missions and had been a counselor in the high priest group leadership in the Brigham City Eleventh ward. He had been a Scout leader for many years. At the time of his death he was an active member of the Eleventh ward high priest group and a home teacher. He had been a member of the Box Elder Water Users board. Surviving are his widow of Brigham City, three sons and four daughters, Melvin B. Andersen, Kaysville; Bishop Ralph A. Andersen, Roy; Vertia M. Andersen, Farmington; Mrs. Steven R. (Delpha) Baird, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Norman B. (Belva) Christensen, Walnut Creek, Calfi.; Mrs. Ralph C. (Fay) Jeppson, Orem; Mrs. Seth (Jean) Jensen, Fairfield, Ohio; 36 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Andersen. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 12 noon in the Brigham City Sixth and Eleventh wards chapel, 506 South Second East, with Bishop Fred Forsgren officiating. Friends may call at Olsen Funeral home from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interement will be in Brigham City cemetery.
