He married Mara Celia Jones on 22 December 1921, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1921 and Idaho Falls, Bonneville, Idaho, United States in 1930. He registered for military service in 1917. He died on 5 April 1932, in Butte, Silver Bow, Montana, United States, at the age of 45, and was buried in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Millcreek, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.

The spelling Davis is more typical in southwestern England northwards as far as Lancashire, where the frequency of the surname largely reflects Welsh migration, but may sometimes represent a native English surname based on Davy (compare Davies ). Davis (including in the sense 2 below) is the eighth most frequent surname in the US. It is also very common among African Americans.
