1956 · The Federal Aid Highway Act

Age 1

With the construction of 41,000 miles of the Interstate Highway System, the Federal Aid Highway Act made way for the largest public works project in American history at that time. One of the purposes was to provide military access to places in case of an attack.
1960 · Seven month strike at Bunker Hill Mine

Age 5

After a 7 month strike, the Northwest Metal Workers took over representation duties on behalf of the more than 1,800 Bunker Hill miners. This entity became the United Steelworkers of America Local No. 7854, ten years later.
1971 · The Twenty-Sixth Amendment
