When Samuel Nelson Alger was born on 3 November 1884, in Huntington, Emery, Utah, United States, his father, Samuel Nelson Alger Sr., was 26 and his mother, Ruth Elmina Pace, was 17. He married Julia Adelaide Sanderson on 27 June 1906, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He immigrated to Vermont, United States in 1895 and lived in Castle Dale, Emery, Utah, United States in 1920 and Elmo, Emery, Utah, United States for about 20 years. He died on 5 December 1951, in Price, Carbon, Utah, United States, at the age of 67, and was buried in Castle Dale City Cemetery, Castle Dale, Emery, Utah, United States.
