When Austin Martindale Farnsworth Sr. was born on 16 December 1838, in South Bend, St. Joseph, Indiana, United States, his father, Stephen Martindale Farnsworth, was 28 and his mother, Julia Ann Clark, was 19. He married Dorcas Terry on 4 April 1858, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Pleasant Grove, Utah, Utah, United States in 1860 and Tuba City, Yavapai, Arizona, United States in 1880. He registered for military service in 1857. He died on 8 December 1912, in Richfield, Sevier, Utah, United States, at the age of 73, and was buried in Richfield City Cemetery, Richfield, Sevier, Utah, United States.
