The Prohibition Era. Sale and manufacture of alcoholic liquors outlawed. A mushrooming of illegal drinking joints, home-produced alcohol and gangsterism.
1923 · President Harding visits Utah to get to know the people.
President Warren G. Harding's visited Utah as part of a broader tour of the western United States designed to bring him closer to the people and their conditions. After Speaking at Liberty Park, the president went to the Hotel Utah where he met with President Heber J. Grant and talked to him about the history of the church.
1928 · The Tower Theater
The Tower Theatre is a historic film theater operated by the Salt Lake Film Society. The theater presents independent films and is a venue for the Sundance Film Festival. It also presents classic films on occasional weekends and hosts a movie-rental library for those that want to expand their cinematic knowledge.

Welsh: derivative of Evan , from Efan, Ifan, medieval forms of Ieuan (from Latin Johannes, the source of English John), dating from c. 1500, with the post-medieval patronymic suffix -s. Welsh Sion was a separate borrowing of English John, and Evan (Ieuan) and Sion developed as independent names.
