When George James Forsyth was born on 23 May 1844, in Port Huron, St. Clair, Michigan, United States, his father, Thomas Forsyth, was 30 and his mother, Isabella Donald, was 25. He married Sarah Sophronia Snow on 31 October 1870, in Pine Valley, Washington, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 4 daughters. He immigrated to United States in 1918 and lived in Cardston County, Alberta, Canada in 1906 and Magrath, Cardston County, Alberta, Canada for about 5 years. He registered for military service in 1868. He died on 6 February 1927, in Bountiful, Davis, Utah, United States, at the age of 82, and was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.
