When Jean or Jan Göransson was born on 22 August 1776, in Sweden, his father, Goran Errson, was 27 and his mother, Maria Matthesdotter, was 24. He married Maria Jansdotter on 1 January 1805, in Finnerödja, Skaraborg, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 23 May 1856, at the age of 79.
