    English, Scottish, and northern Irish (of Norman origin): habitational name from Sainte-Foy-de-Montgomery and Saint-Germain-de-Montgomery (Calvados). It has been Gaelicized in Ireland as Mac Iomaire and in Scotland as Mac Gumaraid.
