When Seneca Reynolds was born on 7 March 1796, in Kingston, South Kingstown, Washington, Rhode Island, United States, his father, Israel Jacob Reynolds, was 42 and his mother, Deborah Hachel Thatcher, was 35. He married Ann Livingston on 3 July 1823, in Amenia, Dutchess, New York, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons. He lived in Shiawassee Township, Shiawassee, Michigan, United States for about 30 years. He died on 14 April 1872, in Owosso, Shiawassee, Michigan, United States, at the age of 76, and was buried in Maple River Cemetery, Corunna, Shiawassee, Michigan, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
