When Daniel Dacy was born about 1786, in Poland, Androscoggin, Maine, United States, his father, John Dacy, was 39 and his mother, Mehitable Tuttle, was 42. He married Anna Howard on 6 February 1825, in Woodstock, Oxford, Maine, United States. They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. He lived in Weld, Franklin, Maine, United States in 1840 and Weld, Oxford, Massachusetts, United States in 1850. He registered for military service in 1812. He died on 23 March 1863, in Poland, Androscoggin, Maine, United States, at the age of 78.

1786 · Shays' Rebellion

Caused by war veteran Daniel Shays, Shays' Rebellion was to protest economic and civil rights injustices that he and other farmers were seeing after the Revolutionary War. Because of the Rebellion it opened the eyes of the governing officials that the Articles of Confederation needed a reform. The Rebellion served as a guardrail when helping reform the United States Constitution.

1804 · Whitehead Light

In 1804, President Thomas Jefferson authorized the creation of a light station on Whitehead Island. The light house went into service by 1807. It is the third-oldest light house in Maine. Whitehead Light still exists as the private property of Pine Island Camp, a non-profit organization.
