When Joseph Frisse was born on 5 June 1797, in Seingbouse, Moselle, France, his father, Jean Frisse, was 40 and his mother, Anne Marie Weisse, was 34. He married Marguerite Lang on 15 May 1821, in Seingbouse, Moselle, France. They were the parents of at least 7 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Columbia Township, Jennings, Indiana, United States in 1850 and Sand Creek Township, Jennings, Indiana, United States in 1860. He died on 24 October 1864, in North Vernon, Center Township, Jennings, Indiana, United States, at the age of 67, and was buried in Saint Ann Catholic Cemetery, North Vernon, Center Township, Jennings, Indiana, United States.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.
