He married Maria Eulália Pereira Pinto on 12 April 1768, in Rio Pardo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 6 daughters. He died in 1790, in Cachoeira do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, at the age of 48, and was buried in Cachoeira do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
