He married Marguerite Gauthier on 28 February 1832, in Les Cèdres, Soulanges, Canada East, British North America. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 1 August 1885, in Sainte-Marthe, Vaudreuil, Quebec, Canada, at the age of 77.
