When Joseph Charlebois was born on 23 September 1807, in Les Cèdres, Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Quebec, Canada, his father, Jean Baptiste Charlebois III, was 38 and his mother, Ursule Beriault- Poitevin, was 35. He married Marguerite Gauthier on 28 February 1832, in Les Cèdres, Soulanges, Canada East, British North America. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 8 daughters. He died on 1 August 1885, in Sainte-Marthe, Vaudreuil, Quebec, Canada, at the age of 77.
