Adolpho Hexsel was born on 19 April 1882, in São João, Redentora, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil as the son of Nicolau Hexsel and Elizabetha Sanny ou Sannel. He married Bertallina Schmidt on 11 August 1906, in Glorinha, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 21 April 1961, in Concórdia, Santa Catarina, Brazil, at the age of 79.
