1778 · Treaty of Alliance with American Colonies

After the battle of Saratoga France realized that America might be worth backing. They formed an alliance with the colonies and sent naval fleets to help with the war.
1783 · Treaty of Paris is Signed 

Age 14

While Benjamin Franklin was the ambassador to France he negotiated with the French during the war to keep them on the American side. At the same time the Treaty of Paris was established.
1804 · First Empire

When the French Revolution ended it started the First Empire or the reign of the Emperors. This included Napoleon I twice and Louis XVIII (King). The First Empire was in control during the Napoleonic Wars.
