When Myron Bushnell was born on 17 August 1791, in Falls Village, Canaan, Litchfield, Connecticut, United States, his father, Abraham Bushnell, was 46 and his mother, Mary Molly Ensign, was 40. He married Abigail Husted on 6 October 1814. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Munson Township, Henry, Illinois, United States in 1860 and Lincoln Township, Poweshiek, Iowa, United States for about 15 years. He died on 10 June 1885, in Guernsey, Poweshiek, Iowa, United States, at the age of 93, and was buried in Guernsey Cemetery, Guernsey, Poweshiek, Iowa, United States.
