When Jon Snorrason was born in 1728, in Hvoll, Norður-Múlasýsla, Eastern Region, Iceland, his father, Snorri Gunnarsson, was 32 and his mother, Mrs- Snorri Gunnarsson, was 25. He married Ingibjorg Sigurdsdottir in 1757, in Dyrhólar, Vestur-Skaftafellssýsla, Suðurland, Iceland. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 1 daughter. He died about 1770, at the age of 43.
