He married Mary Primrose on 9 July 1828, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States for about 17 years and Brooklyn, Kings, New York, United States in 1865. He died on 5 March 1873, in Louisiana, United States, at the age of 66, and was buried in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States.
