When António da Costa Cró Pimenta de Aguiar was born on 16 January 1878, in Montemor-o-Novo, Évora, Portugal, his father, Henrique Augusto da Costa Pimenta de Aguiar, was 34 and his mother, Ernestina Eugénia da Costa Cró, was 25. He married Maria Cristina da Veiga Palhinha on 23 February 1907, in Montemor, Lisbon, Portugal. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 5 daughters. He died on 16 December 1952, in his hometown, at the age of 74.
