He married Mary Jane Lillie Baughman on 4 March 1887, in Lincoln, Logan, Illinois, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Marion Township, Sebastian, Arkansas, United States in 1900 and Sullivan Township, Muskegon, Michigan, United States for about 30 years. He died on 31 July 1943, at the age of 79, and was buried in Fruitport Cemetery, Fruitport, Muskegon, Michigan, United States.
