He married Seraphine Marie Henriette Rulkin on 25 September 1895. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 30 December 1947, in his hometown, at the age of 85, and was buried in Chéoux, Rendeux, Luxembourg, Belgium.
