1908 · 7th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers

The 7th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers was active from 1908-1967. They were another volunteer unit for Britian's Territorial Army. During WWI they fought on the Western Front and during WWII they arrived in Liverpool just in time for the Liverpool Blitz.


First UK government led by the Labor party under Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald.

English and Welsh (Glamorgan): variant of Hopkin with genitival or excrescent -s. In Ireland, where the name is also frequent, it is sometimes Gaelicized as Mac Oibicín.

History: Stephen Hopkins (c. 1580–1644) was a pilgrim on the Mayflower in 1620 and one of the founders of Plymouth Colony. At his death he left seven children and eighteen grandchildren.
