They were the parents of at least 1 son and 2 daughters. She died on 23 May 1834, in Bennwil, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, at the age of 74.

The original form of the surname, Hersberger, is apparently not found among the American Mennonites and Amish; the most common form of the name among them is Hershberger .
