When Frans Gabrielson was born on 11 May 1825, in Kylle, Kronoberg, Sweden, his father, Gabriel Svensson Rothman, was 26 and his mother, Catarina Svensdotter, was 25. He married Sofia Carolina Hansdotter in 1862, in Ljuder, Kronoberg, Sweden. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 4 daughters. He died on 4 January 1891, in Shafer, Chisago, Minnesota, United States, at the age of 65, and was buried in Chisago Lake Township, Chisago, Minnesota, United States.
