When John Ricketson was born on 30 March 1802, in Union Vale, Dutchess, New York, United States, his father, Jonathan Rickerson, was 21 and his mother, Sarah De Long, was 22. He married Mary Briggs on 16 September 1824. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. He died on 25 August 1832, at the age of 30.
