Alice Mary Sedgley Tonkin was born on 25 August 1876, in Amherst, Victoria, Australia as the daughter of Louisa Angelina Susannah Tonkin. She married James Nelson Henry on 14 October 1889. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 31 July 1950, in Drouin, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 73.
