He married Martha Ann Lewis on 18 July 1847, in Grand Island, Hall, Nebraska, United States. They were the parents of at least 9 sons and 7 daughters. He lived in Weber, Utah, United States for about 10 years. He died on 21 November 1910, in Riverdale, Weber, Utah, United States, at the age of 89, and was buried in Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden, Weber, Utah, United States.
