He married Anne Maria Pedersen Brandt on 27 October 1832, in Skanderup, Anst, Ribe, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Eltang, Brusk, Vejle, Denmark for about 5 years and Vejle, Nørvang, Vejle, Denmark in 1855. He died on 4 January 1865, in Fountain Green, Sanpete, Utah, United States, at the age of 63.
