He married Marin Andrine Tidmonson on 23 June 1886, in Logan, Cache, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Bratsberg, Norway in 1863. He died on 26 December 1922, in Ogden, Weber, Utah, United States, at the age of 59, and was buried in Ogden, Weber, Utah, United States.
