He married Elizabeth Mary Pyper in 1872. They were the parents of at least 7 sons. He lived in Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1860 and Logan, Cache, Utah, United States in 1880. He registered for military service in 1855. He died on 10 April 1933, in Butte, Silver Bow, Montana, United States, at the age of 81, and was buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Butte, Silver Bow, Montana, United States.
