When Margaret Harley was born on 13 January 1823, in Oneida, Center Township, Butler, Pennsylvania, United States, her father, Benjamin Harley, was 38 and her mother, Elizabeth Rhinehart, was 28. She married Alfred Randall on 29 January 1848, in Florence, Douglas, Nebraska, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 5 daughters. She lived in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States in 1839. She died on 5 April 1919, in Georgetown, Bear Lake, Idaho, United States, at the age of 96, and was buried in Centerville City Cemetery, Centerville, Davis, Utah, United States.

The Crimes Act was made to provide a clearer punishment of certain crimes against the United States. Part of it includes: Changing the maximum sentence of imprisonment to be increased from seven to ten years and changing the maximum fine from $5,000 to $10,000.

1848 · Fire Destroys the Temple

On October 9, 1848, an arsonists fire claimed everything but the outer walls of the Nauvoo Temple since the structure was made out of limestone and wood. It was meant to discourage the Saints that had fled to never come back.

The Yorkshire placename derives from Old English hara ‘hare’ or hær + hlāw ‘mound, hill’, later replaced by lēah.
