When Simeon Lincoln was born on 2 April 1790, in New Britain, Hartford, Connecticut, United States, his father, Simeon Lincoln Sr., was 34 and his mother, Huldah Porter, was 36. He married Almira Lincoln Hart on 30 October 1817, in Connecticut, United States. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 2 daughters. He died on 4 October 1823, in his hometown, at the age of 33, and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain, Hartford, Connecticut, United States.

Bill of Rights guarantees individual freedom.

1791 · The Bill of Rights

After the Constitution was made, some objections were raised by Anti-Federalists. So, in response ten amendments were discussed and voted on to become The Bill of Rights. These rights were made to clarify and guarantee certain freedoms of residents of the country.

1800 · Movement to Washington D.C.

While the growth of the new nation was exponential, the United States didn’t have permanent location to house the Government. The First capital was temporary in New York City but by the second term of George Washington the Capital moved to Philadelphia for the following 10 years. Ultimately during the Presidency of John Adams, the Capital found a permanent home in the District of Columbia.

English: habitational name from the city of Lincoln, so named from an original British name Lindo- ‘lake’ + Latin colonia ‘settlement, colony’. The place was an important administrative center during the Roman occupation of Britain and in the Middle Ages it was a center for the manufacture of cloth, including the famous ‘Lincoln green’.

African American: adoption of the surname in 1 above, in honor of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the US, who abolished slavery.

History: Abraham Lincoln (1809–65), 16th president of the US, was the son of an illiterate laborer, descended from Samuel Lincoln, who had emigrated from England to MA in 1637.
