When Loren Niles Hoffbeck was born on 5 December 1910, his father, Frederick Hoffbeck, was 28 and his mother, Dagmar Cecilia Sophia Johnson, was 23. He married Claire Dawson on 4 April 1932, in Billings, Yellowstone, Montana, United States. He lived in Saint Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota, United States for about 30 years. He died on 8 June 1984, in Hennepin, Minnesota, United States, at the age of 73, and was buried in Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, United States.
