Maria Barbara Fässler was born in 1711, in Oberiberg, Schwyz, Switzerland as the daughter of Johann Kaspar Gilg Fässler and Maria Anna Reichmuth. She married Meinrad Zacharias Marty in 1738, in Oberiberg, Schwyz, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 3 daughters. She died in 1796, in her hometown, at the age of 85.
