He married Marta Pollack on 19 February 1947, in Strzeleczki, Krapkowice, Opole, Poland. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He died on 23 April 1990, in Steblau, Lublinitz, Silesia, Prussia, Germany, at the age of 72.
